Flutter WorkShop
The Application Development using flutter workshop was conducted on the 19th and 20th of July through the means of Google Meet. The workshop was conducted in two groups namely beginners and advanced. The beginners’ workshop helped those students who did not know Dart programming language, while the Advanced Workshop was aimed towards those students who had some background in Flutter. The workshop was open to everyone in Somaiya.More than 400 people registered for the workshop.

Competitive Programming Webinar
On the 19th of September 2020, CSI conducted its first Webinar, since the formation of the new Council. The topic for the webinar was "How to master Competitive Programming". This Webinar was conducted by Mr. Jayant Sharma, currently working as a software engineer at Google. He has been a National Finalist in Amazon Code Wizard Competition. For sure, this Webinar proved to be quite inspiring for all, and we hope that it may have inspired everyone who attended to start competitive programming, as well as some tips on how to get better at it.

TechRoutes
‘TechRoutes’ is an annual seminar, conducted specially for the newly admitted First-Year Students. The Seminar is conducted to guide the FEs towards the path that they should follow throughout the four years, to manifest a successful career in technology, and a few tips are also provided to the FEs on how to ace the competitive exams for their further studies. This year, the speaker for the Webinar was Mr. Rohan Gori, a 2016 graduate of KJSCE, and a current software engineer at Amazon-Seattle. Having done his Masters in Computer Science from North Eastern University, Boston, sir provided some great tips on the various activities one should undertake in their undergraduate years, as well as the factors that are considered while reviewing a student’s application at an American University.

Front-End Web Development Workshop
CSI conducted its first workshop for the first-year students on the topic of ‘Web Development’. This workshop was organized into a period of two days and was meant to teach the basics of Web Development from scratch so that it could be understood by even those who were new to it. The first day focused more on the basics, on the essential tools of WebDev, such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript, while the second day focused on creating an elementary website from the basics already learned. This would help the attendees put their practical knowledge to use, and help them in the future.

Abhiyantriki Enigma Event
Enigma-2020 was an encryption and competitive coding competition organized into a total of 4 rounds. Through collaborative teamwork, CSI was able to convince a total of 21 teams to take part in the event. Following a tough race to the finish, the participants were able to complete the third and fourth rounds too, and finally, the winners of the competition and the runners-up were announced. While this was truly an enjoyable experience for the participants and their teammates, due to the nature of the events being hosted online, it was a different experience for the council too.

Hackerbash Hackathon
Hackerbash is a Pan-India hackathon , conducted by CSI-KJSCE . This hackathon was based on the following domains- AI/ML , VR, Education , Fintech, Health. Hackerbash was a successor to the annual Hackathons hosted by CSI every year , named as Hackit, but this time, it was conducted completely online, and thus participants from all over the country were able to take part. The problem statements, based on these domains presented real-world problems to the participants that required them to create an application/program that solves it, along with their own creative inputs. The winners would be given certificates of appreciation and student exam vouchers from Sybgen .

The Soviet Archives
CSI hosted it’s second event for Technext – ‘The Soviet Archives’, on Saturday, May 1st 2021. The event was conducted virtually on Discord . It allowed 1-2 participants per team. The event was a series of code breaking , programming and riddle challenges spread out over 9 levels. The theme of the competition , according to the name ‘ the Soviet Archives’ is an alternate reality placed in 2023, where the two super powers , the Soviet union and the United States are at war with each other. The team members were assigned to the role of the General from the United States , and they had to crack the nine levels to win the game.
